Ariana Heinzman is an artist using ceramics and drawings to thin the line between the imaginary and the real. Intrigued by absurdity, Wonderland, and daydreaming, Heinzman doodles both with pencil and coils of clay to find the characters of her inner world. Although these drawings and objects seemingly appear through stream of consciousness, they are influenced by children’s book Illustration from the 1960’s, historical ceramics, and wonderous personal experiences in nature.

Ariana Heinzman was born in Cincinnati OH, and currently lives and works on Vashon Island, WA. She received her BFA in Ceramics from the Rhode Island School of Design. She is represented by J. Rinehart Gallery in Seattle WA. Her work is in the Seattle University Art Collection and The Port of Seattle at SEATAC Airport.
