Ariana Heinzman (b.1991, Cincinnati, Ohio) lives and works on Vashon Island, Washington.  She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she began to use clay as a medium for storytelling. She received her BFA in Ceramics in 2013.  Heinzman moved to rural Ohio, where, drawn to the folk aesthetic around her, she began incorporating imagery from her German immigrant heritage (specifically turn-of-the-century Pennsylvania Dutch Fraktur) onto pottery. After moving to the Pacific Northwest, a place with a ceramic history strongly tied to both the Funk Art Movement and the Studio Craft movement, Heinzman began creating her current body of work.  Heinzman has presented solo exhibitions at J.Rinehart Gallery and group exhibitions at museums ranging from The Museum of Northwest Art to The New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum.  Her work is included in The Port of Seattle at SEATAC Airport and has been featured in Colossal, Ceramics Now, Ceramics Monthly, and American Craft.
